Here we have a 1950’s Gallet MultiChron 12H “Jim Clark” Vintage Chronograph wristwatch. The watch has a wonderful original dial that is really in decent condition with no major defects, a skilled dial person could give it a light cleaning as the estate I found it in had stored it for years without a crystal in a box of junk. That being said there is not really any defects to the dial (see pictures) it truly is still very nice with most of the lume still on the hour numbers. The watch is cased in the original stainless steel case that measures 37mm not including the crown. The case could use a good ultrasonic cleaning and has a couple small pitting marks on the case back but is still very nice (see pictures). The lug on the top right has the H stamp in the back (see pictures) which from what I can find indicates that this watch was produced with the EP 40 movement which would make sense as that is the movement this watch has, when this model watch does not have the H stamp it has the Valjoux 72 movement. This model was made by Gallet with either the EP 40 or Valjoux 72 and the H stamp was for the EP 40 movement cases. The watch is powered by the Excelsior Park 40 movement that seems to be all there, it is wound tight and needs to be serviced but the balance wheel spins free and the center second hand ticks and the subdial seconds ticks when the balance wheel spins from shaking for about 10 seconds until it stops (see pictures) but like I said it needs serviced. The watch will need new center hour, minute, and second hands unless you can straighten these ones out. The watch will also need the hour hand for the hour sub dial (see pictures). The watch has what I believe is the original crown and 1 pusher as you can see it will need the top pusher as it is gone. The watch will also need a crystal. That all being said this is a great opportunity to own a very rare iconic vintage Jim Clark Gallet. Please feel free to ask any questions.
