I acquired some men’s wrist watches at an estate sale. Most of the others that I listed were quartz watches but I have 2 that are older hand-wind style. (Also on another listing I have an Eterna-matic). This is a Gruen Curvex Precision men’s watch. It is gold tone metal with a square face and curved design – the back and crystal both curve to fit the contours of the wrist better. The only writing on the back is a number: V23806. I’m not sure how old the watch is, but it kind of has a mid-century modern look. The band is a stretch metal Kreisler 14 K. Gold filled band with a place to insert initials – right now there is’CJ’ in the spot. The watch is not working. The hands turn nicely but when you try to wind it, the little knob is very tight so I have not forced it. The metal casing on the watch is not worn, the surface of the metal is not showing color wear-off and there are just a few very light little scratches. The face of the watch looks ok. The crystal has some light surface scratching but not too bad. The band is not twisted out of shape but does have some color wear-off and scratches. Most of the items that I sell are “pre-owned” and thus have experienced varying degrees of use. An expectation of perfect will sometimes leave you disappointed when dealing with pre-owned merchandise. Several pictures are included in my listings because I believe that they can give the best representation of the item. I include measurements for all items, but with clothing there are often variances in sizes. I cannot guarantee that every size 8 will fit exactly like every other size 8.
