FOR PARTS/REPAIR – The. Movement does not run and the crown/stem separates (pulls out). And while the date and time can be set by simply turning the crown (which is incorrect) the day wheel does not roll over. A complete restoration is required. Men’s Vintage Lord Elgin 25j Automatic 10k Rolled Gold Plated Wristwatch. The watch is not running. Lug to lug measures 38mm. The case shows normal wear with scratches and nicks throughout. I could not remove back.
Although the FHF ST 96-4 manual wind movement runs an approximate 33 hour power reserve period and the date wheel rolls over as it should the hour and minute hands don’t want to move on their own, suggesting that at a minimum the cannon pinion likely needs tightening. It will tick and run apparently smoothly without interruptions when wound for a good long while, but I cannot say much else about it’s operation.
The serial number on the movement is 13290155. Which according to the pocket watch database, dates this watch to approximately 1908. The watch Sets, but the Wind is LOOSE, and it DOES NOT Currently Run. The case is a Philadelphia 20-Year Gold Filled Hunter Case.
