Up on the block today is kind of an interesting onea relatively unusual variation on the Seiko 6139-601X, more commonly seen in blue or the black Bruce Lee version. This one has seen better days but still has a lot of its original charm. Starting from the start, there are some mild scratches on lower half of crystal, but its certainly wearable as it is. The watch is wearing its original hour, minute, and sweep hands; the subregister hand, however, is an incorrect replacement. In addition, the sweep is binding on the minute hand at times. The minute hand is missing some lume. The chapter ring is very clean, with just some slight fading between 6 and 7 oclock (taking into account that its misaligned). The dial itself is in pretty good shape, with minor pitting and a small but deep scratch just inside the 4 oclock marker. The case looks good overall with the expected dings and no sign of polishing. There are limited tool marks in one spot on the caseback. Mechanically, the watch is running. It appears to be running fairly strongly in dial-down position; however, it stops completely when dial-up. The crown looks correct but Im not sure the stem isit pops out appropriately but the hands dont set other than moving the tiniest bit with clockwise turning of the crown, although its hard to say because the crown is just barely moveable in that direction. I think there may be two problems here: a crown thats not fixed to the stem, since it turns freely counterclockwise and I think is getting ready to come off the stem completely, and something jammed up in the keyless works since neither setting the time nor the day/date quickset works. The pushers, on the other hand, are working well and feel great, although the start-stop seems to be sitting oddly deeper in the case than the reset pusher, which I havent investigated. There is some significant rust on some of the screws, and even more noticeably on the case ring, with very limited rust on the movement itself. I should mention that I have not taken the movement out of the case because of the rust, which I dont want to loosen so that it falls into the running movement. Ivedescribed the watch to the best of my ability and tried to disclose any issues, and I will happily answer any questions and send further photos on request. Please assume that it will need at least a full servicing to run perfectly. The item “Vintage Seiko 6139-6013 Wristwatch for Parts or Repair, December 1977″ is in sale since Sunday, July 19, 2020.
