FOR PARTS/REPAIR ONLY – The Bifora 910/1 automatic. Movement does not run. Additionally the stem and Bulova Snorkel replacement crown pull out so the date and time cannot be set. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1960’s Bifora diver has a glossy black “MADE IN GERMANY” signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear. The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a uniform golden buttermilk hue. The bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, shows considerable wear. The all stainless steel lugholes case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SKINDIVER ALL STAINLESS STEEL AUTO MATIC” with “100%” followed by “WATERPROOF TESTED” and “20 ATMOSPHERES” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped “BIDLINGMAIER” followed by GERMANY. The crystal shows scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. The 17 jewels Bifora 910/1 automatic movement does not run. Additionally the stem and replacement Bulova Snorkel crown pull out so the date and time cannot be set. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 46 mm. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
