I put a battery and the screen lit right up and is crisp as seen in the pictures, but the side buttons do not seem to do anything when pressed. When you rotate the bezel it does go between the modes. I have not attempted any sort of repairs on this watch. The case seems to be in very decent condition, the bezel looks a bit worn but presentable. As seen in the movie Back to the Future. It would be a great parts watch or for someone that can fix this, from research of this watch it seems to be a rare one. Size not including crown. This is for parts or repair. Mechanical watches are prone to damage if you hit them to hard, drop them, shake them to hard or exert any excessive force on them these have fine moving parts that are often moving at a high speed actions such as using a mechanical watch when hammering things or punching things.. These are examples only and. How do vintage watches keep time? Vintage mechanical watches do not keep exact time like its quartz counterparts, expect that watches that we list as working and keeping time unless otherwise specified run +/. 1-3 mins a day, we consider this to be acceptable for most vintage watches.
