FOR PARTS/REPAIR ONLY – The Bifora 910/1 automatic. Movement does not run. Additionally the stem and Bulova Snorkel replacement crown pull out so the date and time cannot be set. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1960’s Bifora diver has a glossy black “MADE IN GERMANY” signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear. The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a uniform golden buttermilk hue. The bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, shows considerable wear. The all stainless steel lugholes case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SKINDIVER ALL STAINLESS STEEL AUTO MATIC” with “100%” followed by “WATERPROOF TESTED” and “20 ATMOSPHERES” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped “BIDLINGMAIER” followed by GERMANY. The crystal shows scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. The 17 jewels Bifora 910/1 automatic movement does not run. Additionally the stem and replacement Bulova Snorkel crown pull out so the date and time cannot be set. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 46 mm. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. FOR PARTS/REPAIR – The AS 1701 automatic movement does not run. The roulette date wheel rolls over as it should, the time can be set without issue and the non-screwdown crown winds smoothly. The bezel rotates too freely. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1960’s Nastrix, who was an American importer of French and Swiss watches and related parts during this time, has under the damaged crystal a lovely but not perfect glossy black dial as it shows wear. The original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The black countdown bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally too freely, presents nicely with the aged lume dot complementing the dial and patina beautifully. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with visibly insignificant signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “ANTIMAGNETIC STAINLESS STEEL CASE BASE METAL INDICATOR SHOCKRESISTANT” with “TESTED TO A DEPTH OF 600 FEET 100% WATERPROOF AND CONDENSATION PROOF” stamped along the inner edge and “SWISS MADE” and “TK” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped T. Co” followed by “SWISS CASE. The crystal should be replaced as it shows scratching and difficult to see micro-fractures as well as significant dust/debris on its underbelly. The 17 jewels unadjusted France NASTRIX CORP. Stamped AS 1701 automatic movement with semi-quickset date function does not run. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. The time can be set without issue and the non-screwdown crown winds smoothly. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 48 mm. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. This vintage 1960’s Mortima SuperDatomatic diver has a black “MADE FRANCE” signed dial that shows considerable wear and the lume does not glow after being exposed to bright light. The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents nicely. The chrome-plated case shows significant wear and brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “WATERPROOF STAINLESS STEEL BACK” with “MORTIMA” and “DELUXE” stamped along the inner edge. The crystal shows scratching. The 17 jewels Cattin C66 manual wind movement runs and keeps accurate time. However, the date wheel does not roll over and occasionally the stem detaches. After winding the non-screwdown crown 15 full revolutions the movement had a power reserve of approximately 31 hours. Given the issues mentioned and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10 mm.
