The quickset date function works flawlessly by pulling out the bottom, non-screwdown “CAMY” signed crown to the first position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached. This particular movement does not have a quickset day function, requiring that the hands be manually turned 24 hours to advance. After winding the bottom crown 39 full revolutions the movement ran nearly 6 minutes slow by the end of its approximate 45 hour power reserve period. This crown winds smoothly. The top crown, which is a replacement, is there to control the inner bezel, which is missing. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the bottom crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. FOR PARTS/REPAIR – Although the movement runs strong over an approximate 37 hour power reserve period when the watch is lying flat, when it is held at various angles the movement tends to stop. Additionally the screwdown crown is finicky, making it a bit of a challenge to set the time and to wind it up. Lastly, the sweep seconds hand resets a smidge to the right of the restart position. Given these issues and considering that the movement likely hasn’t been serviced in several decades a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen 1960’s Rotary two register divers chronograph has a matte black “SWISS” only signed dial with white subdials that is in near pristine condition. The lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a toasted golden buttermilk hue. The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents nicely. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped TESTED TO 20 ATM. With a diver in the center. The crystal ring shows oxidation which can likely be wire-brushed away during a service. As most clearly seen in picture 9 the bottom pusher is dinged and peeled. The crystal shows chipping and scratching. The 17 jewels Landeron 149 manual wind movement is exceptionally clean, keeps relatively accurate time when lying flat and all chronograph functions work as they should with no gumminess to the pushers. When the watch is lying crown and non-crown side up/down at approximately 90 degrees the movement tends to stop. Once the watch is moved to a more flat surface and after some gentle shaking the movement fires back up. The top pusher starts and stops the sweep seconds hand while the bottom pusher resets it along with the minute register (right subdial) back to a smidge right of the restart position. After recently winding the sharply threaded screwdown crown 25 full revolutions the movement had a healthy power reserve of approximately 37 hours. However, the crown is finicky. When it is unscrewed and pulled out to the last position gentle outward pressure needs to be applied to the crown at the same time it is being turned in order to set the time. And in order to wind the crown it needs to be pushed back in after setting the time, wound counterclockwise and then gently pulled back out to the first position to engage the winding mechanism. It takes patience and some trial and error to get the feel down but w. Hen the winding mechanism is engaged the crown winds smoothly. Iven the issues mentioned and considering that this watch is more than 50 years old with an unknown service history (there are two watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back suggesting that the last service was done several decades ago) a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 42 mm excluding the crown, approximately 45.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 11.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 14 mm. This watch comes on a N S A SWISS MADE STEEL INOX Pat. 434845 stamped all stainless steel bracelet showing moderate wear. I’d guestimate that it may accommodate up to an approximate 7.5 inch wrist. Given the issues mentioned and considering that the movement has likely not been serviced for several decades a complete overhaul is required. FOR REPAIR – while the time can be set and seconds hand will move for varying lengths of time after the watch has been gently spun face down on a flat surface (after recently spinning it nonstop for approximately one minute I observed the movement run and keep time for a little more than 2 hours), the crown does not engage the movement when being wound. Considering the movement’s unknown service history (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is required. This unique and seldom seen Vantage diver has a glossy black dial that shows wear and chipping along the edge from approximately 12:05 to 2:12 o’clock. Please note that a significant amount of dust/debris is sitting on the underbelly of the crystal and to a lesser degree the dial. The lume on the dial, which has aged to a lighter patina than that of the hands, does not glow when exposed to bright light whereas the hands emit a quick-burst glow. The bezel, which does not rotate , presents as near perfect in person (the smudge at the beginning of the red section to the left of the 15 mark was noticed after taking the pictures and wiped off without issue). The all stainless steel case is in wonderful condition showing minor wear, no visibly noticeable dents or dings and no signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SHOCKRESISTANT WATERRESISTANT ALL STAINLESS STEEL” with “TESTED TO A DEPTH OF 600 FEET 100% WATERPROOF AND CONDENSATION PROOF” stamped along the inner edge. FOR REPAIR – while the date and time can be set without issue and the crown wound, the movement will sometimes run for several hours at a time while at other times it stops intermittently. When it does run consistently it loses several minutes. Additionally, a movement screw has come loose and will be included in a separate bag. As a result the movement and dial have some wiggle. Given these issues and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This vintage Arnex diver has a black “FRANCE” signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows some difficult to see wear. In person it presents beautifully. Please note that majority of the imperfections seen are on the crystal. The lume, which remains fully intact and briefly glows on the seconds hand only after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The stealth bezel, which rotates a bit stiffly bidirectionally, appears to have been sanded down. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows minor wear with no signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “ALL STAINLESS STEEL ANTIMAGNETIC” with “100%” followed by “WATERPROOF TESTED, “”20 ATMOSPHERES” and “54160” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped “ARNEX TIME Co” followed by FRANCE. The crystal should be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted France “ARNEX TIME INC” stamped ETA 2472 automatic movement with quickset date function is clean and runs. However, sometimes it runs for several hours at a time while at other times it stops intermittently. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. The roulette date wheel rolls over at 12 o’clock as it should. The dented, non-screw down crown winds smoothly. Given the mentioned issues and considering the movement’s unknown service history (there are several watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back) a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm. Given that this watch is more than 50 years old and considering the noted issues a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. FOR REPAIR – while the movement is clean, the date wheel rolls over as it should, the time can be set without issue and the crown winds smoothly and screws down properly, the movement does not run. Given this and considering that the movement appears to have been last serviced in 1983, a complete overhaul is required. This honest vintage Scubapro 500 was worn as it was intended to be worn, as a tool watch. It has a matte black “TSWISS MADET” signed dial that is in lovely condition and the patina on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a toasted golden buttermilk hue. In my humble opinion the warm and inviting patina looks much better in person than in the pictures and is the highlight of this watch. The silver bezel , which ratchets counterclockwise, shows wear and the butterscotch colored inverted triangle complements the lume on the dial and hands beautifully. The massive all stainless steel case is in decent condition showing wear and bruising but no visibly noticeable signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “INCABLOC STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE 67199 SUPER-WATERRESISTANT” with “SCUBAPRO WORLDWIDE” followed by “5201” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped “6420” followed by “SCUBAPRO” and SWISS MADE. The crystal shows scratching. While the 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss “SCUBAPRO” signed ETA 2784 automatic movement with quickset date function is clean, the date wheel rolls over as it should, the time can be set and the crown can be wound, the movement does not run. The quickset date function works flawlessly by unscrewing the screwdown crown , pulling it out to the first position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached. The crown winds smoothly and screws down as it should. Given that the movement does not run and considering that it appears to have been last serviced in 1983 (the inside of the case back shows watchmaker service markings from 1974, 1981 and 1983) a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 41 mm excluding the crown, approximately 44 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 13.5 mm. The sunken crystal adds no additional thickness. Given that the movement does not run and considering that it appears to have been last serviced approximately 36 years ago a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. FOR PARTS/REPAIR – I’ve gotten the movement to run after gently shaking and or spinning the watch face down on a soft, flat surface, observing it keep accurate time from several minutes to several hours. The more it is shaken and or spun the longer it will run. Given that the crown and stem are missing and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This Edox Hydro-Sub has a matte blue “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows age-related wear and imperfections. In my humble opinion it looks much better in person and in pictures. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which no longer emits a glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a butterscotch hue. The all stainless steel bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with the appropriate amount of tension, looks great. The all stainless steel case is in decent condition, showing considerable wear. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “STAINLESS STEEL 10 ATMOS SWISS MADE WATERRESISTANT SHOCKRESISTANT AUTOMATIC 21 JEWELS” with “28292-4″ stamped in the center. It should be noted that while the case back says the movement is 21 jewels the oscillating weight is stamped 17 JEWELS. The crystal shows scratching.
