FOR PARTS/REPAIR – Up until recently the manual wind movement lost about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. However, after recently testing the watch again it ran for only about 10 minutes before stopping, fully wound. Despite being fully wound if clockwise pressure is momentarily applied to the crown the seconds hand will resume running for several seconds to several minutes or longer. If constant clockwise pressure is applied to the crown it appears that the seconds hand will run continuously, unwinding the mainspring. The dial moves and vacillates when the crown is pulled out, pushed back in and when the time is being set. Given the issues mentioned a complete overhaul is required. This vintage 1970’s Cardinal Rallye GT world time diver has a glossy black “SWISS MADE” signed dial that is in poor condition. The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a warm buttermilk hue. Both bezels, which show wear, rotate bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension. The chrome-plated case shows considerable wear and brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped WATERPROOF SWISS MADE STAINLESS STEEL BACK 200 VACUUM TESTED. The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally shows pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove. Up until recently the manual wind movement ran about 2 minutes slow by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. It does not have a semi-quickset date function. Although the non-screwdown crown winds smoothly when it’s pulled out, pushed back in and when the time is being set the dial moves and vacillates. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the silver bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 47 mm. A complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Vintage Pulsar P4 Big Time LED digital watch. I put a fresh batteries in it (batteries not included) but the watch would not power up. This is the later model that did not use a magnet to se the time. Please look at all the pictures and judge condition for yourself. You will have to install your own battery after you receive this watch. Casio watches require a reset after a battery change: locate the “AC” terminal on the movement, and using a paper clip or tweezers make contact with this terminal and the positive (typically the top side) of the battery. The movement tends to run for several seconds to several minutes at a time after the crown is wound and then spinning the watch face down on a flat surface, the movement does not run consistently for any extended period of time. The longest I’ve observed the movement running consistently was for nearly 10 minutes, during which it kept accurate time. Both the day and date wheels roll over as they should and the quickset date function works flawlessly. The crown turns a bit stiffly when setting the day, date and time. A complete overhaul is required. This vintage 1970’s Tempus has a pristine blue “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial and the lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The world time bezel, which shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents nicely. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear with minor brassing. The outside of the case back is stamped “SWISS MADE – SHOCKPROTECTED – AUTOMATIC – STAINLESS STEEL BACK” while the inside of the case back is stamped M. The crystal should be replaced. The 25 jewels Swiss “BREVETS” and MICHAEL Z. BERGER stamped Baumgartner 158 31/7 automatic movement with quickset date is clean and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should but does not run consistently for any extended period of time. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then repeatedly moving the hour hand between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. The brassed, non-screwdown crown winds smoothly. Given that the movement does not run consistently and considering its unknown service history (there is an undecipherable watchmaker service marking on the inside of the case back) a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. Given that the movement does not run consistently and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Although the AS 1914 manual wind movement keeps accurate time over an approximate 40 hour power reserve period and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should the crown is on unevenly. Although the crown/stem connection is solid occasionally the stem doesn’t want to engage the hands to set the time. When this happens I’ll push the crown in, pull it back out and then turn it again. Or I’ll simply continue to turn the crown until the stem reengages the hands. While the crown winds without issue it turns a bit rough when setting the time. Given the crown/stem issue and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1970’s Helbros diver, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a satin blue “SWISS” only signed dial that shows age-related wear and the original lume, which emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The faded bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The all stainless steel lugholes case shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped “ALL STAINLESS STEEL WEST GERMANY” with the inside of the case back being stamped HELBROS WATCHES. The crystal needs to be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss “ELGIN 338″ stamped AS 1914 manual wind movement with quickset date function keeps accurate time and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should. The quickset date function usually works consistently by pressing in on the crown. Occasionally it won’t so I’ll manually roll over a new day/date and then try the quickset function again. This tends to work out the kinks. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 33 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 40 power reserve period.
