Although the movement runs strong and keeps accurate time over an approximate 41 hour power reserve period the HEV screwdown crown doesn’t screw down as it should. While it does quasi screw down, if it is tightened too tight it will pop back out. The crown should screw down tight so that it cannot continue to be turned. Given this and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1960’s Jules Jurgensen diver has a “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial that has aged naturally and uniquely to a lovely brownish gray brindle color. The lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The faded black bezel, which shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents nicely. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SWISS WATER RESISTANT INCABLOC STAINLESS STEEL H 63 201 ANTIMAGNETIC” with the Jules Jurgensen emblem stamped in the center. Between the lugs at 6 o’clock are the stamped numbers 57748. The crystal shows light scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this one is torqued too tight for me to remove. Having had several examples of this reference in the past it likely has an ETA 2472 automatic movement. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After winding the HEV screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had a healthy power reserve of approximately 41 hours. However, the crown, which winds smoothly, does not screw down as it should. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12 mm. This watch comes on a used mesh bracelet that will likely accommodate up to an approximate 7 inch wrist. Given that the crown does not fully screw down and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Watch balance wheel is not moving at all. Only the case is solid white gold, not the band. Safety chain is broken but people often times remove them anways so it is not a big deal. Crystal, case, and band have some scratches a. Dial has some patina/wear. I can set the time. Have a lovely day!
