Vintage 1960's Bifora All SS German 20 ATM Skin Diver withPatina FOR PARTS/REPAIR

FOR PARTS/REPAIR ONLY – The Bifora 910/1 automatic. Movement does not run. Additionally the stem and Bulova Snorkel replacement crown pull out so the date and time cannot be set. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1960’s Bifora diver has a glossy black “MADE IN GERMANY” signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear. The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a uniform golden buttermilk hue. The bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, shows considerable wear. The all stainless steel lugholes case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SKINDIVER ALL STAINLESS STEEL AUTO MATIC” with “100%” followed by “WATERPROOF TESTED” and “20 ATMOSPHERES” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped “BIDLINGMAIER” followed by GERMANY. The crystal shows scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. The 17 jewels Bifora 910/1 automatic movement does not run. Additionally the stem and replacement Bulova Snorkel crown pull out so the date and time cannot be set. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 46 mm. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Vintage Swank German Diver withAged Blue Dial, Lorsa P75 Mvmt, Runs FOR PARTS/REPAIR

FOR PARTS/REPAIR – The Lorsa P75 manual wind movement will run for a few seconds at a time only after the watch has been gently spun face down on a flat surface. Although the date and time can be set the crown is fully wound, likely suggesting that the mainspring needs to be replaced. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This vintage 1960/70’s Swank diver has under the heavily worn crystal a lovely naturally aged blue “GERMANY” signed dial. The lume on the dial and hands, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged evenly. The black bezel, which in my humble opinion is the highlight of this watch, shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear and minor signs of brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SWANK 17 JEWELS” with “STAINLESS” and “STEEL BACK” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped SWANK INC. The crystal should be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted “GERMANY” and “SWANK” stamped Lorsa P75 manual wind movement with semi-quickset date function will run for a few seconds at a time only after the watch has been gently spun face down on a flat surface. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. A complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10.5 mm. The crystal adds no measurable increase in thickness. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 43 mm. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Although the crown can be wound the day, date and time cannot be set as the crown won’t fully pull out. And while the seconds hand will move it only does so for several seconds at a time. Given this and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This seldom seen vintage 1970’s Helbros day-date diver has a “GERMANY” signed dial that has aged naturally and uniquely over time to a bluish tan hue. In my humble opinion it has oodles of character and presents markedly better in person. The original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The bezel, which rotates a bit stiffly bidirectionally, shows considerable wear. The all stainless steel lugholes case, which appears to have retained its original finish, shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped ALL STAINLESS STEEL WEST GERMANY. The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally show movement pics of the watches that I put up for sale the case back on this one is torqued to what feels like factory specs and is on too tight for me to remove. Based on another identical reference that I’ve had I believe the movement is likely a 17 jewels PUW 1564 automatic with quickset date function. By winding the sharply threaded non-screwdown crown and then gently shaking and or spinning the watch face down on a soft, flat surface the seconds hand will move inconsistently and for only several seconds at a time. And since the crown won’t fully pull out the day, date and time cannot be set. Nor can the crown be pushed in to test the quickset date function. Given these issues and considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm. Given that the day, date and time cannot be set, that the movement does not stay running for more than a few seconds at a time and considering that it has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.
