FOR PARTS OR REPAIR – While the crown can be pulled out the date and time cannot be set nor does the seconds hand move after gently shaking or spinning the watch face down on a soft flat surface. A complete restoration/overhaul will be required. This vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf has an originally glossy black “SWISS T < 25 MC" signed dial that has matted out naturally over time to a charcoal color. In my humble opinion it has aged beautifully and has oodles of character. It is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows age-related wear. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which no longer emits a glow after being exposed to bright light, has developed a perfectly matching deep patina. The tritium on the hands, which remains fully intact, shows signs of cracking that I only noticed after seeing the pictures. In person and on the wrist this cracking is nearly visually imperceptible. The bezel, which smoothly rotates bidirectionally, shows wear and brassing. The all stainless steel case is in excellent condition showing light wear and no signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped "ZODIAC SEAWOLF WATER-TESTED 20 ATM ESPECIALLY" and between the lugs at 6 o'clock are the stamped numbers 1801557. The crystal shows scratching. The case back on Sea Wolf's are notoriously difficult to remove and should be done by a skilled watchmaker familiar with how to do so in order to avoid causing damage. However, I have no reason to think that the movement is missing given the weight of this watch and how it feels when being shook. While the crown can be pulled out the date and time cannot be set as the stem is not being engaged. Given that this watch does not run a complete restoration/overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel is approximately 8 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10 mm. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.
